The Algalphabet is a typographic project of the morphological study of algae.

ALG Bifurcaria takes design inspiration from the seaweed with which it shares its name. The glyphs feature bold, curvilinear branches and a naturalistic feel, making it a versatile choice for both display and body copy.
The font includes a full set of lowercase characters, along with punctuation and numerals. It also includes ligatures, alternates, and discretionary ligatures.

Algalphabet is an ongoing project initiated by Julien Villaret, in collaboration with graphic designer Jonathan Shi. Julien is an artist who primarily works with algae. He is known for his art, printmaking, and industrial design.
